Fix it in post, or
get it right in prep.

Welcome,

I'm Ancois {answa}, Post Production Strategist & Executive Advisor

I come in during development and pre-production to bring post insight upstream.

Having run a post facility, I help shape early creative, technical, and operational decisions —

so everything aligns from the outset.

You love it when a plan comes together.

So do I.

Most productions already plan well.

What changes outcomes isn’t more planning.
It’s having experienced post thinking in the room while decisions are being made.

During development and prep, I help hold the moving parts together:

Easily prevent overages with skillful planning

  • workflow and pipeline design

  • post budgets and schedules

  • vendor strategy and sourcing

  • technical and delivery requirements

  • risk and pressure-point mapping

  • clear handovers for the post team

So when production wraps,

post doesn’t become a rescue mission. It simply works.

Why Me
& Why
This?

I bring more than two decades of experience across the full lifecycle of film and television post-production. I spent over fourteen years working as a producer, followed by six years running one of Africa’s largest post-production facilities, where I was responsible for the design and operation of post-production systems spanning dailies, editorial, colour, sound, visual effects, quality control, delivery, infrastructure, teams, and client relationships at scale.

Across those roles, I worked hands-on with first-time filmmakers and major international studios, supporting projects from early planning through to final delivery. That position gave me a rare, end-to-end view of how creative choices, technical decisions, budgets, schedules, systems, and human capacity intersect — and where they quietly break down.

I have seen what happens when post-production is thoughtfully planned from the outset. Budgets hold. Schedules breathe. Teams stay functional. Creative intent is protected. I have also lived inside the opposite reality: projects entering post without enough preparation, where pressure, cost, and complexity land on people and processes that were never designed to carry them.

Working at the centre of both outcomes shaped how I operate. I became known for understanding detail without losing the bigger picture, and for recognising risk long before it appears on a budget or a timeline.

Over time, it became clear where this perspective has the greatest impact. Not during execution, when options are limited, but earlier — during development and pre-production — when decisions are still flexible and direction can still change. This is often the point where choices that feel small quietly determine the cost, pressure, and complexity of post long before it officially begins.

That is where my work now sits.

I support productions in shaping their post-production approach before it becomes a problem to solve. I support early decision-making so budgets, schedules, and workflows are built on realistic post assumptions. I help align creative ambition with technical reality, budgets with delivery expectations, and workflows with the people who will actually carry them.

This is particularly valuable for international productions, where local execution must align with global delivery standards, platform requirements, and downstream expectations from the outset.

This work does not add another layer to the process. It removes friction before it forms. It gives productions clarity, foresight, and calm at the point where those qualities matter most.

I work with...

  • Producers in development and prep wanting post costs and workflows mapped early.

  • Line producers needing expert validation on a post budget and schedule.

  • Post Supervisors stepping onto complex or fast-moving projects who value a seasoned thought partner, or want early groundwork in place before their official start

  • VFX-heavy or technically demanding productions that require clear scope, vendor strategy, and pipeline leadership

  • Teams under pressure or transition who need workflows stabilised and delivery risks reduced

  • Emerging and independent productions aligning ambition with realistic scope before greenlight

  • Production teams committed to designing post with intention, not urgency

  • Producers in development wanting post costs and workflows mapped early.

Packages

  • Early clarity. Embedded support. Seamless handover.

One engagement, three levels of involvement—depending on where you are in the process and how much support you need.

    Best for:
    • Productions in development or early prep who want post mapped properly before decisions lock

    • Teams actively prepping that need experienced post insight available as plans evolve

    • Projects where the Post Supervisor joins later, and early groundwork would ease the transition

    • Productions looking for an Associate Producer with post and strategy expertise

    This Looks Like:

A structured engagement built around where you are in the process.

We start with a foundation phase: mapping workflows, budgets, schedules, and pressure points. From there, we scale involvement to match your needs.

Foundation – Post Plan in Place
A structured, project-specific post-production plan delivered early—giving producers and post supervisors a solid foundation to work from.

    Embedded – Advisory Through Prep
I work alongside producers, line producers, and key creatives during prep—offering real-time guidance as decisions are shaped.

    Bridge – Framework + Handover
I design and hold the post structure early, then step back once the Post Supervisor comes on—ensuring continuity and clarity rather than duplication.

We can stop at Foundation, continue into Embedded, or move straight to Bridge if you already have a Post Supervisor lined up. You choose the level that fits.

    The  Outcome:

    • A post-production plan that feels coherent, realistic, and easy to step into

    • Decisions that feel considered rather than rushed

    • A Post Supervisor who inherits a system that makes sense—with decisions, context, and intent clearly articulated

    • Less pressure. More flow. Post designed with intention, not urgency.

    Support Includes:

    • Defining the overall post-production approach

    • Mapping workflows and pipelines across departments

    • Building or reviewing post budgets and schedules

    • Flagging risks and pressure points before they escalate

    • Supporting vendor conversations and alignment

    • Translating creative intent into practical post implications

    • Creating a clean, well-contextualised handover for the incoming post team

    • Option to serve as Associate Producer with strategic oversight from development through delivery

    Build

    Advise

    Bridge

  • Targeted clarity when something feels unclear

    Best for:

Productions needing a second set of experienced eyes on a specific post concern.

    This Looks Like:

A short, focused engagement addressing a defined question or pressure point.

    The Outcome:

Clear direction, grounded advice, and confidence in the next steps.

    Support Includes:

    • Reviewing a post budget or schedule

    • Assessing workflow feasibility

    • Pressure-testing assumptions

    • Identifying hidden risks or misalignment

    • Offering practical recommendations

    The Outcome
You transition cleanly without compromising delivery or burning out.

    For Production Companies
    Executive Surge Support

    Best for
Temporary leadership stretch across multiple productions.

I develop structural assumptions around scale, workflow, delivery requirements and timeline so that what is submitted is realistic and defensible.

    The Outcome:

    • Submission budgets that reflect practical post realities
    • Timelines aligned with delivery expectations
    • Reduced risk of under-budgeting

    • Projects that need packaging, positioning, or a clear pathway to audience

    This Looks Like:

A grounded conversation built around the realities of independent filmmaking.

We start with where you are, what you have, and what the next move might be. Together, we look at your project, your team, and the landscape—and shape a way forward that fits.

Whether that's assessing your pitch, festival and distribution strategy, attaching key crew, or simply deciding whether to make the film independently or seek partners—we help you see your options clearly.
